compete at the first ever regional cheme-sports!
This year’s Southern Regional Conference will feature a hybrid ChemE-Sports Competition on optimization and safety, open to all undergraduate AIChE student members, based on a gas treating unit with a Distributed Control System.
All competitors will work through multiple scenarios. The competitors will be given real-life scenarios that could be observed in a plant and an objective to complete within a given timeframe. Scoring will be based upon both the profitability and the safety of the unit during the simulated run for each team.
Students may compete in groups of 1-4.
Please note that there is no competition fee for ChemE Sports thanks to our sponsors.
To register, fill out the following team registration form by priority deadline March 7th. If your team does not fill out this form ASAP, your team may miss important information sent from our ChemE Sports Chair, Carson Meyer.

ChemE Sports has been, historically, a national competition hosted by Robert G. Bozic Ph.D./LTC(USA(Ret.)) (robert.bozic@columbia.edu). We are excited to bring you this opportunity at our upcoming SRC, thanks to the work of Carson and the 2025 Conference Planning team.
